Social media is a mask or an image that we present ourselves in.

Social media has a big impact on today's society.

We all seek social approval and as humans, we are easily persuaded.

We care about how many likes we get and if it's not enough one can take it down the image.

When we upload an image of ourselves our mind becomes variable to know what others think of it and how many likes it will get. A famous quote from the Youtube video called this is how the social media destroying our lives said “We search for feedback using social media”

We always think will it reach the standers to be presented in social media.

Social media account are aware that we are vulnerable to more likes. when we get a like the social media app sends you a notification telling you that your image has been liked as they know that this would make us go back to their app and use it to see who liked it.

According to the research article by Mehmet Akif Ersoy called "A Research on Social Media Addiction And Dopamine Driven Feedback" states that When we use social media or our phone our brain realises a chemical called dopamine. Dopamine is the same chemical that makes use feel happy and it is highly addictive. Dopamine is also released when one smokes drink and gambling.




You gradation growing up in a world where social media is part of everyday use while going through the highly stressed environment. A study called international Forum of Educational Technology & Society shows that "The results show that 17% started using social media at age nine or younger, 40% accepted friend requests from people they do not know, and 40% reported that their parents did not monitor their social media use, which calls for the needs of cyber-security education. "

They don’t have the coping mechanisms teal with the stressful informant that they are in. so when tress becomes overwhelming they don’t get in contact to a person but turn o social media instead which offers them temporary happiness and relief.

Its has been proven that people that spend more time on Facebook suffer a higher rate of depression them people who don’t.


Katherine Ormerod presented a ted talk discussing the “ why is social media is running our lives. Highlighting the points on how social media isn’t financially supporting and how she decided to change her social media page and present more of r reality life on it.
